Scottish Terrier
Sandy is a wheaten beauty. She has a quiet and peaceful personality and gets along with all of our dogs. She is incredibly observant and has learned our movements and habits so well that she can always anticipate what our next move is. She acts as the early warning sensor for the group when we are about to let everyone out, or feed them.
She loves to follow up around doing our outside chores; perhaps believing that her presence will mean another tasty treat. She does a better job with her observing.
She is a stunning beauty who carries herself wonderfully in the ring with her handler Santiago Pinto. Her littermate brother Tavish is also an AKC Champion.
Sandy finished her championship on June 14, 2025, with Santiago Pinto handling, after taking Winners Bitch for a 4-point major at the Evansville Kennel Club show in Louisville, Kentucky, that March.
Sandy is also a mother — her daughter Tilly (CH Afterglow’s Piccadilly Circus) is a champion herself.
After she retired from showing, Sandy joined Peg Selzer’s family in Granville — a match made by Lisa and Geiger — where she keeps her Frenchie brother Guillaume company. Peg calls her “the most loving girl,” with “that Scottie sassy attitude and energy we love.” Peg’s family had lost their Frenchie Isabull last fall, and Guillaume needed a new friend; they had owned Scotties over the years. Sandy still comes to Afterglow for grooming.
